MI Creative Potential
The arts generate innovation, achievement, relationship, community, and well-being. Arts education serves as a foundational resource that leads to fostering vibrant communities, building our best workforce, fueling our creative economy, and supporting health and wellness.
Equitable Access to Arts Education
The MI Arts Ed Coalition is led by MAEIA in partnership with the Michigan Arts and Culture Council and Michigan Education Association. We foster equitable access to arts education in Michigan through data collection, implementation of MAEIA resources, strategic partnerships, and a statewide arts action agenda. Shared Commitment – Investing in Our Future
Statewide shared benefits are generated through shared commitment. As we grow, resources will sustain this initiative from federal, state, private and philanthropic sources. Public-private investment will support data collection and statewide connection that illustrates arts education needs in Michigan. This will inform an annual State of Arts Education report and recommendations.
Statewide Networks
Regional Arts Ed Networks assemble the people who can turn arts education data into growth with tailored supports from the leading entities in the MI Arts Ed Coalition. Regional continuous improvement planning and the development of additional resources will increasingly support classroom practices, arts programming, and arts-rich, vibrant communities.
