MAEIA professional learning networks, opportunities and resources help arts educators, school districts, and ISDs implement high-quality K-12 arts programs. Our work promotes positive experiences for students, teachers, and school communities within the processes of teaching, learning, evaluation, and continuous improvement planning. Regional Arts Education Networks

MI Creative Potential has built an infrastructure framework for developing Regional Arts Education Networks comprised of ISD/RESAs, districts, community arts organizations, independent teaching artists, legislators, business leaders, and funders. The pilot began with Region 5: the Great Lakes Bay Area, and continues to roll out through the remaining geographic areas in Michigan. MAEIA Regional Leads provide professional learning and consultation on MAEIA resources

MAEIA Regional Leads are a cadre of experienced arts educators in all four arts disciplines (dance, music, theatre, visual arts) who offer virtual and face-to-face professional learning opportunities and consultation on the implementation of MAEIA resources. Find out more.

What types of professional learning does MAEIA offer?

MAEIA provides professional learning opportunities, resources and tools to help arts educators, school districts, and ISDs implement high-quality K-12 arts programs. We offer face-to-face and virtual events, in-district professional learning sessions, and self-paced digital opportunities. And, our blog posts–written by arts educators–are a great source of inspiration and information about honing your craft.

Why should I use the MAEIA tools and assessments?

More than 1,000 arts educators contributed to development of the MAEIA resources. The resources are high-quality, user- friendly, field-tested, and adaptable to your needs. Used together, they strengthen student performance, enhance program development, and help you demonstrate your value as an arts educator. And, they are available at no cost.

Who created the MAEIA resources?

The Michigan Assessment Consortium leads the MAEIA Project with support from the Michigan Department of Education. Professional learning is supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.
